2,600 square meters of learning worlds for the vocational training of the future: the Freudenberg ÐÔÊÓ½ç is investing some € 8 million in a new vocational training center at the Weinheim location. When the first vocational trainees start out on their careers at the center they will benefit from numerous innovative learning opportunities – from cutting-edge machines, technical workshops and learning islands with touch-screen monitors to a media library.
A "learning factory 4.0" will also debut at the center: vocational trainees will experience a mini-version of the networked factory with modern production workflows and processes. That gives them the opportunity for "hands-on" learning to grasp the way things work and control processes using state-of-the-art technology. "Our aim is to offer our vocational trainees a learning environment that qualifies them for tomorrow's working world and is aligned with the changed conditions for a globally active technology group," Dr. Tilman Krauch, Member of the Freudenberg ÐÔÊÓ½ç Board of Management, said at the groundbreaking ceremony in Weinheim in early June. Construction work is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.
